Three quick questions before the full application — this takes 30 seconds and saves you filling in the rest if CDWF isn't a fit yet.
Sounds like a fit — continue to the full application below.
Based on your answers, this product isn't currently eligible for CDWF accreditation. If you think that's not right, or your circumstances change, contact forms@fundamentallychildren.com and we're happy to talk it through.
The CDWF sets out what genuinely child-centred digital design looks like, evaluating whether a product actively supports children's development — not simply whether it avoids harm. Accreditation is awarded only on full compliance with the General Floor Requirements and a satisfactory assessment across every section relevant to your product.
Complete this application on behalf of your organisation. Your progress is automatically saved — use the link below to return at any time from any device. Throughout the rest of this form, the framework is referred to by its abbreviation, CDWF.
Tell us about your organisation or the person leading this application.
Describe the product or service you are submitting for accreditation.
That's fine — you can still submit this application for early review. Use the description, design documentation and supporting media fields later in this form to help assessors understand the planned product. We'll follow up once a testable version is available.
Because your product enables interaction between users, the Online Guardrails section of the assessment will apply — covering messaging, moderation, blocking/reporting and profile privacy. You'll be asked about these in Section 5.
There is currently no CDWF accreditation pathway for products primarily aimed at children under 2. You can continue this application for reference, but accreditation cannot be awarded for this age band alone. If your product also targets an older age band, please select that too.
To be eligible for CDWF accreditation, your product must meet the criteria below. Confirm each statement applies before we proceed with the assessment.
The following requirements represent the minimum safeguarding and design standards that a digital experience must meet to be eligible for certification under the Children's Digital Wellbeing Framework. Products that fail to meet these requirements cannot proceed to full assessment. All requirements in this section must be met for a product to be eligible for CDWF accreditation — there is no partial credit. For each one, tell us where you stand, and show us how: a link, a screenshot or short clip, or a brief note.
This section covers the full CDWF assessed framework — not just the Floor Requirements. For each item, tell us where you stand and give whichever evidence is useful: a link, a screenshot/short clip, or a brief note.
These 20 principles apply to every product regardless of features, and form part of the full CDWF assessment alongside the Floor Requirements.
These 7 requirements apply because the product has online/social features.
The sections shown below are tailored to your answers in Step 2. Provide links to media that will help assessors understand your product.
This section isn't relevant to your product based on your answers in Step 2. AI Guardrails only apply where a product includes AI-generated or AI-powered features.
You indicated this product includes AI-generated or AI-powered features. The CDWF AI Guardrails apply — covering disclosure, human oversight, emotional boundaries and safety testing. Complete the questions below.
These are used for your accreditation certificate, badge, and any public listing of accredited products — not evidence, just how your product is officially represented.
Please read and confirm each declaration before submitting your application. All declarations are required for your application to be considered.
